In This edition of Keeping It Real Joe Hawkins caught up with old friend Tim 'm T. West.

A successful author, spoken word artist, and impressive MC who co-founded Deep Dickollective with Juba Kalamka in 1998. He coined the term "homohop" to give a name to the burgeoning movement in which he found himself a player.

Tim 'm is currently featured in the Logo documentary "Pic Up The Mic" which follows leading LGBT hip-hop artists as they confront one of the music industry's most homophobic genres. He is also featured in the upcoming PBS special "Beyond Beats & Rhymes" (he is the only gay hip hop artist featured) along with mainstream hip hop artist 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, and others.

A bi-coastal artist that tours the country regularly with spoken word events and performances with D/DC, Tim'm is considered a true patriarch of the community that he's helped develop. I love ya boi...keep keeping it real.
